Some subtle eroticism, preferably in everyday situations, simply bring something fresh and pretty to the walls with cheeky charm. Now the days of locker pictures for soldiers are over and there are already enough Playboy bunnies. So I have the plan to gradually approach the topic of "New Pin-Up". As I discovered, however, this is more difficult than I thought. ;-) But how I like to y: "The journey is the reward!" (... ) Some of these images are available as Artprint ©PRINTLER. Minor deviations in color are due to the printing process. The corresponding link can be found under the respective picture. Color your Life - Ride free Me for Present... UPS, he did it again! School´s over! Fly higher... Be mine tonight... Pin-up - First Contact 🙂 Urteile nicht Pin-up feat. Hot Wheels Desiree - Ein erster Versuch :-) In order to embark on "my" pin-up journey, I first did some research on the Internet to find out what is commonly understood by pin-up. Originally, pin-up pictures are those that show women in erotic poses and can be pinned to the wall. Well, basically you can pin any picture to the wall. So what is so special, so different about these pictures? These pictures are often used as calendar pictures and/or printed as double-sided or even large-format, fold-out posters. Before these images were defined as an art form in their own right in the 1980s, they were seen as illustrations. They were used for dime novels and magazine covers. According to Wikipedia, even serious magazines like the Times used pin-up images as covers. So far I have not found any. The postcards of the Austrian painter and illustrator, Raphael Kirchner , in the youth and pin-up style can be seen as an early type of this art form. Pin-up, seen as everyday art, was recognized by a broad section of the population from the 1920s to the 1970s. Through a multitude of postcards, magazine titles, advertising posters, but also on various objects, these depictions were quite suitable as mass effective war propaganda. The rather erotic images were intended to push and spur people on to peak performance. Millions of these pin-up girls populated the lockers of US soldiers during the Second World War. Frank Powolny, a 20th Century Fox photographer, photographed Betty Grable in 1943 as a pin-up girl in swimwear, looking over her shoulder, a mischievous smile on her face. This picture is said to have been the most popular of its kind and iconographic for the time. The film "Pin up Girl", shot by 20th Century-Fox in 1944, benefited from the fame of this picture and its model. During the Second World War, but also during the Korean War, the pin-up scene was given a new direction through "nose art". The United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) liked to paint their fighter planes with pin-up girls as well as comic figures and martial allegories. The design of these ladies was often coordinated with the character that the soldiers ascribed to their meshes. Sometimes the meshes were named after the ladies whose likenesses served as models. Artistically talented members of the USAAF also created their own pictures, which found a new canvas on the back of their flight jackets in order to emphasize their affiliation to "their" airman. The "Memphis Belle " is the most famous aircraft with a pin-up identity . It was a Boeing B-17 bomber of the 8th US Air Fleet, which bombed a total of 25 targets in Germany and occupied France in 1942 and 1943. Even though the classic pin-up girls have largely disappeared, "nose art" is still widespread today, mainly among units on combat missions. My picture "Fly higer - Dream bigger" is one of my first attempts to create a "typical" pin-up picture with DAZ Studio. It is inspired by Dr. Strangelove - or how I learned to love the bomb, 1964 (Stanley Kubrick transforms the threat of nuclear war in the 1960s into a grotesque comedy. The horror only becomes apparent in the humorous exaggeration) and is by no means a particularly creative achievement of its own, but it is a picture on the way to engaging with this genre and for this reason I like it. Pin-up pictures usually show pretty, young women in various, mostly erotic poses. They usually have sentimental, narrative, romantic or patriotic components. The subject is often everyday scenes in which minor misadventures are shown, often with a clear erotic touch. Even if seemingly deep sensual insights are granted, nothing is clearly shown, everything is left to the imagination of the respective viewer. The ladies are usually lightly clothed and only very rarely are they completely or partially naked. In 1951, the Austrian magazine Cocktail published a highly critical review of the pin-up and Hollywood scene. The eroticizing and sexualizing portrayal of these women was divided into two types of women, the US pin-up girls and the Hollywood starlets. While the starlets were considered to have a certain assertiveness and self-confidence in addition to their beauty, the pin-up girls were perceived as sophisticatedly dressed, but otherwise rather hollow and superficial. Both types of women were believed to be able to attract rich men with the help of their openly flaunted beauty, but tended to be denied the skills needed for a down-to-earth, normal marriage. If you want to delve deeper into this socio-critical topic about the new roles of women in the post-war years, you can find out more in the above-mentioned article in Cocktail and the subsequent review 2023 by Clio-online . I am more impressed or inspired by the more recent pictures by photographer Dr. Yvonne Sophie Thöne . She has a doctorate in Old Testament studies, studied theology and has made fashion and portrait photography her hobby since 2018. She has noticed that the women in older and classic pin-up depictions are often portrayed as somewhat clumsy and innocent, something that contradicts today's more feminist image of women. However, the fascination of these vintage images still exists, which I can definitely confirm. Today's women can be anything: nuclear physicists, judges, doctors, firefighters, craftswomen, housewives, bakers and much more. Dr. Yvonnen Sophie Thöne lets women slip into one of these roles in front of the camera, just the way the woman likes it and feels comfortable. Together with the women, she wants to show that it is possible to see life in a funny way and laugh about it. The lightness and colorfulness, the humor that these pictures radiate obviously make pin-up pictures so popular today. During her 10 years as a teacher and researcher, she has read many passages in the Old Testament about love, physicality, hatred, loyalty and the really lively themes of life. She has discovered that the Bible was not necessarily hostile to the body and lust in earlier times, but that this attitude has only been interpreted and unfortunately cemented in this way over the years. She photographs a wide variety of women in bold, colorful and erotic poses. They are physically completely different. In addition to young, slim women, there are older women, rounder bellies, small and large breasts, lots of tattoos and no tattoos. She simply shows a complete cross-section of "fair femininity", who are clearly living their dream of being a glamorous girl for a moment in front of the camera with joy and self-confidence. The naturalness, colorfulness, eroticism, wit and humor appeal to me, fascinate me and have inspired me to create my own pin-ups with the help of DAZ Studio. The different styles such as rockabilly or retro punk as well as the proximity to burlesque also offer 1001 attractions and ideas. I don't have an exact idea, I just let myself be inspired and see where this path takes me ..... Graffiti I Streetart I Silk City Gallery 2021 I Seidenweberhaus Krefeld I Martini Pitture I Daniela Lazazzara I Beuys I Lifstye street art - Martino Pitture & Daniele Lazazzara/Italiy return Martino Anfang "Untitled" Martin: Facebook * Instagram Daniele: Facebook * Instagram Already on the stairs to the 1st floor you can see the strong blue tones of the Italian artists Martino Pitture & Daniele Lazazzara from Italy. You can find more information about the images below. (...) Artist information (...) Annotation: In this picture, the fascination for me at first came from the color "blue". This color dominated from day one and I kept scurrying by to see how the work would develop. In addition, two things particularly fascinated me. On the one hand, there were the exaggerated proportions of the two figures on the right. On the other hand, it was the kangaroo that, although it matched the two figures harmoniously with its coloring, was more angular and futuristic in style. However, the powerful image effect only became apparent after the removal of the scaffolding. Where am I looking? What does the rabbit mean? Questions upon questions I asked the two artists after the event. According to the artists themselves, the basic idea for their picture is nature and interpersonal relationships. The complexity of the interaction between nature and man should be presented. Daniele wants to bring people into the cities with his oversized kangaroo. The animals enliven a concrete landscape and Beuys will find (his) place in the kangaroo's belly. So far, Daniele provides his own idea, since the two actually want to encourage the visitor to write their own story. They specify individual elements, such as the rabbit. The rest is up to the viewer's imagination. I catch myself finding new ways of interpreting it the more often I look at the picture in the Seidenweberhaus or on the PC. For me, this picture is a very active picture, not only because I delved deeper into Beuys' life, but also because the two artists spoke very friendly and openly about their pictures. Martinos You can find verbatim explanations of his picture in the short interview below. According to the artists, the picture does not have a title, but it can be seen as a successful homage to Beuys. Short interview Martino & Daniele: Martino Pitture :"Hello Kerstin. The idea of the painting arose on a purely aesthetic level from Beuys' performance in which he showed pictures to a dead rabbit. But the core of my reflections concerns the human tendency to place themselves at the center of every thought. So I wanted to split up the characters by creating two symmetrical characters, the first of which has the live animal's point of view showing the world to a human skull. Then I like to give symbolic references in all my works without explicitly formulating a message, in order to leave room for interpretation. The stories the viewer makes up are often more interesting than those contained in the work." Question: Are the exaggerated proportions a sign of your special style or is the overly long neck of the figure on the right supposed to say something special? Yes, the characters in my oil paintings usually have these proportions. I try to combine aesthetic beauty with wrong proportions. Source: Martino Pitture personally Daniele Lazazzara: "The rabbit and the skull are the work of the great Martino Pitture. My drawing represents a surreal kangaroo, this animal protects the young in nature, in this case the kangaroo protects the structure and therefore the mystery of these spaces in others dimensions" Daniele is also a tattoo artist. One cannot exist without the other." ©Irina Rathmann Two in one interpreted by Camilla Margarito. Artist information (...) Artist Information Camilla Margarito Info Camilla Camilla says of herself that she finds it a little difficult to put into words the thoughts and associated emotions that surround us. That is why she loves art in its various forms. Words can be unclear. You have too many limits. Her pictorial composition for the Seidenweberhaus came about out of a certain curiosity. She doesn't want to show a work of art "carved in stone", but to illustrate simple considerations. The figure of the Siamese twins is unusual, especially the shape of a vase with two necks. Depicted and beautifully worked out, she has the beautiful similarities of the two forms. Camilla Margaret had f For her "little" picture, the idea of starting with these two brothers who have to master their lives as Siamese twins in one body. She wondered to what extent a symbiotic relationship can be perceived between the two. What level of organization and, above all, how much respect and understanding is required to live well and not invade the thoughts and freedoms of others in such a limited "space". In the case of the Siamese, it is nature that acts, and nature would likely endow these two people with infinite love and a boundless sense of oneness to enable them to handle life in the best possible way. But what would emerge in society, in family relationships, in work relationships, in all those close relationships where we can't choose our "fellow" people? Camilla wanted to present these relationships in a positive development. For them it is a numbers game. (From 1 + 1 = 1 or after all 2?) She then speaks of an encounter with the will to understand one another on deeper levels. Of an encounter aimed at a fair and mutual relationship that can manifest itself in an embrace, striving for mutual unity. This unity can also be represented by the vase with the two necks. She sees this vase as an object that, despite its fragility, shows stability and strength. This vase would show unity and diversity at the same time. In this part of the picture, she continues her game with the numbers. *For the design of the amphora, I took my inspiration from a ceramic from theGumelnite culture from the period 4500-4300 BC. be inspired." The considerations give her picture idea enormous strength, as she tells the person behind the camera with beaming eyes. Here one sees a possibility that society can learn from its "small" picture to organize itself too carefully in order to ultimately be able to live better together. Sources: Video krefeld.de, Camilla Margerito Annotation : At this point, thanks to Camilla for explaining her picture. Even if we viewers should (or should) have our own thoughts about urban art, I always find it enriching/complementing when the artist gives something of his own intention to the viewing path. * * * Camilla Margaret is a sculptress, Illustrato rin and street artist from Puglia, who now lives and works in Berlin. In the last 10 years she has participated in various street painting festivals in Italy, France and Germany, often creating street paintings and murals together with her partner Martino Larocchia. Samara Blue I Wer bin ich? Was treibt mich an? I Meine Kameras I Meine Visionen I Meine Ideen I Meine Wünsche und Vorstellungen I Urbexart I Dreamtime I My Way of Art I Lost Place I Streetart Kerstin Ellin ghoven aka samara blue- Just Me return Hi, I'm Kerstin Ellinghoven - better known online as Samara Blue . This name comes from my time as founder and dancer of the Moonlight Dancers, a group that combined oriental dance and fascinating fire shows. This creative phase shaped me and the name still accompanies me today on my artistic paths in digital and photo art as well as local photo reportages. How I got behind the camera My love of photography began indirectly with the search for cool pictures of my fire shows. That's when I met Dark Lord Ellia, a photographer and artist from Krefeld - and now my husband. I'm still waiting for the promised fire photos, but I discovered that my place is behind the camera and not in front of it. I dedicate myself to photography with a lot of passion and curiosity, am constantly learning new things and usually let my gut feeling guide me. My old Nikon D700, without automatic controls, is my favorite - it demands real craftsmanship and connects me more intensely with my subjects. Although I don't do photography professionally, I see it as my creative form of expression. I love capturing special moments for people - from emotional weddings and sensitive baby belly shoots to glittering oriental dance shows. Capturing emotional memories for dancers is particularly close to my heart. It fulfills me to give them pictures in which they like themselves - a feeling that for me goes far beyond my own time on stage. Lost Place Fotografie My entry into photography began with lost places - thanks to my husband, who initially took me to such abandoned places. My fascination for the stories and backgrounds of these places eventually led me to create my website “Samara Blue - Urbexart”. Even though my focus today is on digital art, this name reminds me of my photographic beginnings. My approach was never to cover as many spots as quickly as possible. I wanted and still want to feel the atmosphere of the places, discover their stories and bring them to life through my pictures. Every project is time-consuming: from discovering the places to researching, selecting and editing the photos. I consciously take the time to capture the uniqueness of each place and gather background information. Lost places, often forgotten buildings from recent history, are more than just backdrops for me - they tell of life that once was and stimulate the imagination, allowing us to participate in long-gone history. Lost Place Streetart & Magische orte Urban art and special places I came to the subject of street art rather by chance. Many of my photos show colorful graffiti and urban artworks that were simply too good to gather dust on my hard drive. Fascinated by the stories behind these works, I began to research artists and find out their intentions. It gets particularly exciting when artists like Ben Mathis, Klaus Klinger or Karsten Breidenbroich share their insights. The Kiefernstraße in Düsseldorf with its beautifully colored houses remains a project close to my heart - a vibrant hotspot of urban art that is constantly changing. I am also always fascinated by the regularly recurring urban art events in Krefeld. They not only offer inspiring works of art, but also the perfect opportunity to get in touch with artists. These encounters give me a deep insight into their creative processes and enrich my view of their works. As a Krefeld native, my photographic heart naturally goes out to the regularly recurring urban art events. In addition to great pictures, there are also many opportunities to get in touch with the artists and gain a deeper insight into their creative process. I am also interested in unusual places with history or a special atmosphere. One example of this is the Schlaraffia Crefeldensis in “Et Klöske” - a fascinating place that I had the opportunity to photograph. It was a very special encounter, as women are not usually allowed in here. Projects like this give me the opportunity to make stories visible and capture places in a special way. Urban art and special places - for me, both combine photography and curiosity in their most beautiful form. Urbanart Krefeld 2023 Urbanart Krefeld 2015-2021 Dü-Kiefernstraße Magische Orte Digital art & Lyric Digital art is my main focus at the moment - a creative focus that fulfills and inspires me. Thanks to my husband, I discovered DAZ Studio, a medium that allows me to create diverse scenes with characters, animals and environments. Perspectives and lighting are similar to real photography. Even though this work requires patience, practice and lots of experimentation, I find it a fascinating way to create images and often complement them with suitable words. This often results in small, magical stories. During the pandemic, this kind of creativity became an important part of my everyday life - and it still is today. I am particularly proud that some of my works are sold through the art print publisher Printler. This motivates me to try out new themes and processing options - even if not every experiment succeeds. Artificial intelligence in my work: I look at the topic of AI with interest, but use it sparingly. I rarely use AI for backgrounds, as it is important to me to have as much control as possible over the process of creating an image. For me, AI remains an exciting but complementary tool that will probably be indispensable in the art world in the future. But it will never be able to replace an original photograph that captures real moments. Pictures and words - one unit: For me, pictures and texts often belong together. A picture is only complete when I have found the right text to complement or underline its message. When I write, I see myself less as a copywriter and more as a creative writer. I enjoy organizing thoughts, telling stories and bringing images to life with words - intuitively and with a lot of passion. This is my way of discovering art in all its facets and passing it on. Digitale Art Art Print Publisher PRINTLER HP - design The history of my homepage: The design of my homepage is also part of my creative process. It was originally created to present my dance activities. At the time, I thought long and hard about whether I should write it myself or use a modular system and deliberately opted for the latter. Instead of immersing myself in source code, I wanted to put my energy into content. Today I rely on Wix, but even here it takes more than just clicking a few buttons. Templates have to be adapted, elements put together harmoniously and mobile views optimized. The requirements of cell phones and tablets in particular often require extra fine-tuning. Changes by the provider bring additional challenges - and sometimes it is unavoidable to intervene in the source code, even if I would rather avoid it. Despite all the small obstacles, working on my homepage remains an ongoing project - and I love it! For me, it's like a modern-day glossy picture album from my childhood, and tinkering with it is simply part of it. hobbys My creative passions: Working with the 3D program DAZ Studio and the subsequent post-processing are currently one of my most time-consuming hobbies. There is so much to discover, try out and refine that I never get bored. Photography remains my passion, which I am constantly developing. I still really enjoy holding the camera in my hand and experimenting with new techniques. Reading is essential for me - not a day goes by without an interesting book. Every book that my husband and I get our hands on also gets a permanent place in our home. Cooking and especially experimental baking are also among my favorite pastimes. My husband always benefits from this too, of course! In the colder months, we like to play 'World of Warcraft', another, unfortunately also rather PC-heavy passion. To get away from the screen for a bit, I tend to our organic garden and try yoga, which I hope is a good way to meet new people. Last but not least, I'm rekindling my old passion for designing and tailoring clothes. I finally have a sewing machine again and my fabrics and patterns will no longer be gathering dust in the corner. Lots to do, but I'm looking forward to everything that comes my way - after all, there are 24 hours in a day! My creativity What does creativity mean to me? For me, creativity is an ongoing flow that cannot be captured in rigid rules or measurable results. It is a path that I follow to enrich life with my own unique forms of expression. From handicrafts to art: Even as a child, I made everything I could find. Creative courses and new techniques constantly broadened my horizons. As my experience has grown, I have always found new forms of expression that make me happy - be it through dance, photography or creative photo reportages. Creativity without limits: Photography came into my life over eight years ago when my husband introduced me to the world of digital cameras. With a camera in my hand, the world suddenly felt like a new, limitless creative medium. It was a turning point - and the freedom to create images that I felt myself was like an epiphany. Digital art and 3D design: At the end of 2021, I came across the 3D program DAZ Studio. This new creative world allowed me to experience digital art in a completely different dimension. The process of learning and discovering always challenges me anew. Creativity is spontaneity and emotion: for me, creativity is an interplay of head, heart and soul. It loves the unplanned and unbound. It requires patience and time to unfold. It is the moment in which an image comes into being and, for me, forms a harmonious whole. Creativity is more than technique: creativity cannot be forced according to a plan or a formula for success. It is unpredictable and often comes when you least expect it. But that is precisely what makes it so unique and valuable. My art is my hobby: my art is not a competitive act, but an expression of my personal joy and satisfaction. It gives me the freedom to express myself and to share this inspiration with others, without any thoughts of competition. Creativity as a universal language: I believe that creativity is a universal language that can connect us with each other. It helps us to think outside the box, explore new paths and experience life in a deeper, more colorful way. Conclusion: My art is my hobby, my creative path. It fulfills me, enriches my life and allows me to keep discovering new things. And that is what true creativity is for me - the constant, colorful flow of ideas that never stand still and are not bound by any obligations or conditions. That is a piece of freedom for me. Lots to do, but I'm looking forward to everything that comes my way - after all, there are 24 hours in a day! Standing - Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen In the digital space, many things are often shared thoughtlessly and judged quickly. But not every statement I make reflects my deepest thoughts. Here I share with you some principles that are important to me - the thoughts that I really stand behind. My principles: Follow your dreams. A life without dreams? Not my thing. I will always follow my own dreams, even if they are not easy to realize at times. Quality over quantity: I'm not interested in posting what feels like a thousand pictures every day. If I have something to show, it's good and I do it with conviction. If I can't think of anything, then that's fine too. Just don't huddle. There is strength in calm. I take the time I need. Age is just a number. The path is my goal, even if it's bumpy, and there's always something new to discover, no matter what stage of life I'm at. I don't run after anything or anyone. I go my own way. I find peace within myself, because that is the place that suits me. I can't do anything with “fishing for compliments”. If I like what I have created, then it is good for me. Don't talk about me, talk to me if you have something on your mind. Status, possessions and intelligence mean little to me. The true value of a person lies in the way they treat me and others. I like myself with my strengths and weaknesses. If I want to learn something, then I do it. But I don't have to be able to do and like everything because others do. There is no such thing as perfection. I am open to new things and welcome honest criticism, but even without feedback I stay true to my path. Anyone who wants to can accompany me part of the way, but no one will tell me where to go. For me, respect, honesty, tolerance and loyalty are the basis of every relationship, whether in the family, among friends or elsewhere. Some things have to grow and develop. Nothing can be forced. That's what drives me. To be creative, to grow and to go my own way, in my own personal way, and to feel free and alive in the process. With this in mind, have fun browsing and be patient if it takes a while for a page or a topic to be finished. It's my time :-). Your s Samara Blue Krefeld in November 2023

TUBUKU - WAY OF STYLE Künstlerinfo TUBUKU In order not to succumb to the boredom of Monheim, which was still insignificant at the time, the two had to decide whether they wanted to follow the wrong path or trust in their their should take special paths. Obviously, the two of them weren't after creative activities in night and fog actions, but rather energetic spraying and painting in public space. They don't want to and don't have to hide. On the contrary, they want and should earn money with their artistic craft. The name TUBUKU is made up of the English "too" and the French "beaucoup". This is based on the German saying "Too much of a good thing". In this way they express their way of working, always giving everything, preferably more than necessary, also verbally. They see themselves more as craftsmen and designers than as artists. They are guided by the local conditions combined with the customer's wishes. If a wall needs more paint, they say it should get it. And they are not stingy with energy and color. Her mostly nature-related motifs impress with their intensive, finely tuned coloring, which is intensified by using at least three levels per color and ensures special plasticity. This supports the currently so popular3D style , which was first noticed by DAIM in 1989 as part of street art and was placed on the walls of houses. Jarek and Alex don't want to be seen as artists so much. An artist has an image, an idea in their head that they want to realize, but they see the conditions they find and are inspired by them. However, I do perceive the resulting images as art. As Wikipedia explains, art is a human cultural product, a result of a creative process. The creativity of the two paired with their manual skills creates art in the urban environment. Art that makes people stop and see the world through the eyes of TUBUKU for the moment and possibly exchange ideas with other chance encounters. That's what street art is all about for me personally. It allows me to simply find the pictures beautiful or, if I like, to interpret them for myself, to perceive a whole in individual parts and to add words to them that often only occur to me during post-processing on the PC. But not only motifs from nature originate from the two creative minds. They also bring extraterrestrial worlds to the walls in a lively and colorful way, as is currently the case at Volta Platz in Krefeld. Her sphere of activity has long since extended beyond the borders of Krefeld. With live streams, they let their fan community actively participate in what is happening, especially in Corona times. The customer can obtain comprehensive information about the projects and working methods of TUBUKU via their professional homepage and place orders that are precisely tailored to their interests. Artist info (...) Infos Fabio Annotation: For me, this picture was not easy to photograph. That's why the photos don't have a really good quality. I apologize for that. But because I was very fascinated by this work of art, I tried different sections and perspectives. I gave the title of the picture myself because I had no other information. As I was working on this, the questions below ran through my head. Fabio Fedele was kind enough to answer them. Thanks a lot for this. My question to Fabio why he portrayed the old man with wings t: "The wings are symbolism to make the character transcendent. Angels belong to a religious or New Age context, the wings on humans belong to a secular or pagan symbolic context. The old man has wings because he's not human , but the embodiment of the idea of time. And we know that time flies." My first thought was that the blue color symbolizes water: "Blue is a melancholic color, it does not represent water but the sky." The old man is holding an old stone with a picture of a fish skeleton: "The fossil represents an imaginary tropical fish. It doesn't represent the decay of nature. It represents the decay of human expectations, human presumption, but also our simple life, our honest feelings. Everything that is important to us becomes shortly after our death disappear. It is a reflection on the vanity of our existence. Nature will go on undisturbed even after our extinction." My question about the possible reference to current natural disasters: "I'm aware that meteorological disasters and bereavement are a significant concern at this time, but I didn't take them into account in this work. I admit you can see it there, which would make it even more welcome, but that's what I had to do unfortunately not thought of in the design phase." Artist and picture information Fabio Maria Fedele Fabio: "The building will be destroyed and with it our paintings. The old man represents time and is holding a fossil. The fossil represents what we will leave behind in our future. Like the building and the works, our life will be destroyed, and what remains of it, of our feelings, of our actions, will be small and unexpected to us." Thank you, Fabio, for explaining your picture for Krefeld. Source: Pabio Fedele personally * * * Fabio Maria Fedele studied architecture as well as the history and preservation of architectural cultural assets. In 1993 he started street painting as a Madonnari artist and since 2006 3D street painting has also been part of his repertoire. He has won numerous prizes at international street painting festivals and has painted in Italy, Croatia, France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Arab Emirates and the USA. In Italy he was awarded the highest titles for his street paintings: "Maestro Madonnaro" in Grazie di Curtatone and "Magister Madomnaris" in Nocera Superiore. In addition to street painting, he also works as an illustrator for archaeological museums. His art is based on drawings that depict his flow of thoughts, which he likes to improvise. The location of the painting is an important source of inspiration for his mostly figurative paintings, in which he also likes to play with geometric shapes and decorations as compositional elements. For him, decorations are an expression of his constantly changing imagination and elevate his art to a pure, sensual and aesthetic concept. He likes to build contradictions into his artworks, which symbolize the boundlessness of the art of self-manifestation. “Images are very important to me because they serve as a means of communication and can transport many messages at the same time. I think it's the artist's job not only to create beautiful, communicative images, but also to teach the public how to look at art properly. Figurative art is a language. Understanding them helps us better understand the world and appreciate the things we see. In my eyes, art is based on natural aesthetics, which is why the artist has to study and observe for a long time in order to know the laws of nature. Being an artist is a serious business that cannot be mastered on the fly. For me, art is not a hobby, but a science that finds its best teachers in nature itself and in one's own sensory perception." Down Town Gallery I Street Art I Künstler I Urbex Art I Samara Blue Photo Art Artist information - Down Town Gallery 2019 return Edgar Müller, Bad Ems - Human dignity is inviolable Home page In Edgar Müller's opinion, our imagination does not suffice to imagine the extent of our struggle for survival. For this reason, our actions and actions are inhuman. We disregard nature and The situation refugees. In order to understand that what people do and/or do nothing ultimately also affects them, there will first have to be a big bang. Many of the global catastrophes are due to human misconduct, caused by greed for profit, materialism and the need for economic growth. Artificial intelligence and the extremely fast-growing information technology that paralyzes free thinking, the Binds people's energy and threatens them with far too much unnecessary information in their natural being, is a sign that "his generation" has failed. It remains to be seen if anything will change. Gregor Wosik, Mönchengladbach - One Wall, Two Worlds Facebook * Instagram * Homepage Gregor Wosik takes up the always topical issue of refugees. He depicts the situation as a parallel world. On the one hand there are the desperate people looking for help, whole families often with small children, who are looking for a way across dangerous oceans to a supposedly better world, on the other hand the sailing regatta, well organized, public , well guarded. Gregor enthusiastically used the partially dilapidated underground to recreate a broken atmosphere with his colors and hands. A closer look reveals the fine details that force me to look more closely. Fabio Fedele, Rovigo, Italy - Unknown Psychodrama Facebook * Instagram Darkness and gloom surround a bright center like a cave. This cave represents evil thoughts, violence and fear. Selfishness, superficiality and uncompromising adherence to ideological and/or religious principles appear frightening and threatening to people. The bright scene in the background with the happy girl playing with animals in a beautifully colored nature, appears in bright light, thus representing good thoughts, love, tolerance, understanding and respecting the environment . The surrounding darkness seems to be overpowering and has a negative effect on us humans. But everyone has the freedom to determine their own behavior. Good thoughts can be a way out, out of the bunker. Actually quite simple. Even when threatening things and actions surround us, we have it in our hands to find the direction into the light, towards love, understanding and justice. Ruben Poncia, Uetrecht, The Netherlands - Reflex Facebook * Instagram * Homepage With this picture, the artist wants to draw attention to the fact that there is still a danger from nationalism and populism. The tiger depicted represents wisdom, mystery and domesticity. He leaves the eagle as a symbol of the Nazis for nationalism and populism. Such a beautiful animal as the eagle, like populism, attracts people, embodies power. But nobody knows when he will attack. Out of his own concern, Ruben wants to draw people's attention to the dangers of nationalistic ideas. He appeals not to forget the consequences, which are sufficiently documented by history, and to be aware of what such slogans can do. The overpoweringly large and aggressively portrayed eagle makes the danger seem very vivid to me. Victor Splash, St. Petersburg, Russia - Alive Surface Facebook * Instagram * Homepage The wall itself is the key element for Victor Splash. He lets himself be guided by the overall environment and wants to steer the visitor into his emotional world when entering the rooms. He perceives the peculiarities of the space made available to him and integrates this into his artwork. Here in the bunker, he is fascinated by the heaviness of the concrete pillars, which he softens into softer, more flexible forms through his 3D representation. In this way he seems to abolish the laws of architecture and construction and transforms himself without violence and aggression thickest walls and structures. Stressed.es, Krefeld, Germany - clip open Homepage The graphic designers Sebastian Saffenreuther and Clemens Brück symbolize the idea of protection with the help of brackets. With these brackets you can include or exclude things and/or influences. They connect the inside with the outside, one thinks: "Am I inside or outside? Am I under the protection of the bracket or is it more like a wall that hinders me?" It seems to be a question of one's own perception whether I perceive a situation as positive or negative. It's my decision whether I get involved in a situation and maybe talk to other people about it. Similar to, for example, the intersections in set theory, I capture this work of art with a geometric feeling. Something that has been very familiar and vivid to me since school. They also use colour, form and composition in a playful way. The daylight that falls on the picture at this particular point reinforces the connection between inside and outside. Adry del Rocío, Guadalajara, Mexico - A house to dream of Facebook * Instagram * Homepage The artist from Mexico worries about the difficult living conditions in refugee camps. Can they hope for protection and a more comfortable life? Do they have prospects of a secure future, of a house to dream of? Already in her childhood, the artist was sensitized to this subject by her father. He supported street children in Ecuador, a problem that in Latin America is causing many families to leave their villages due to the drug wars. Her artwork is to be understood as an illusion of a happier, more peaceful world. The intense coloring and happy faces of the children depicted make it easy for me to follow the illusion, for a blink of an eye... Alex Maksiov, Kiev, Ukraine - Shelter Facebook * Instagram * Homepage It depends not only on the person himself whether his head can offer humanity a protective space, but also on his environment. Both have an impact on the situation. The ceiling and floor hold the concrete head captive. It stands for a person who has lost all humanity. This head can no longer offer protection to humanity that defective. But_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_ Everyone has to make their own decisions for or against humanity and thus protect their heads from external attacks. This work of art has a disturbing effect on me. I can't grasp it all at once. What is where? Where does it belong? Alex Weigandt, TUBUKU, Krefeld - Last man understanding Facebook * Instagram * Homepage This scene, which depicts a bar, seems dreamily unreal. It stands in stark contrast to the life situation in a bunker during wartime. People, guests with heads made of lightbulbs, these may stand for thoughts and ideas. Alex thinks back to his student days and plays with the transparency of the colors used, creating different lighting situations and exposing his figures to different life situations. In difficult life situations, bars often become a place where you can get help or at least a distraction. Sometimes the visit ends in alcoholic free fall, which many a bartender, as a supposed friend, likes to support. But what is reality? who is my friend Do I have a "real" friend? How necessary are social contacts? ... and where can I find them during the Corona period? For me, this question is particularly explosive at the moment. Maria Kudasheva, St. Petersburg, Russia - Shelter in my head Facebook During the war, a bunker was a protection for the life and limb of the population, but for mutual support it was also a place where one was/was locked up . Are we really free today in peace ? Maria wonders if you don't have your own prison in mind today, walls built around to protect one's mind from the abundance of information and outside influences? Rapid changes make it difficult for us to separate the important from the unimportant. Everything is in constant change. Can we come with you? What helps us keep track? Your plain person appears to be seeking this meditation. iVann Garc, Guanajuato, Mexico - Flexible battle Facebook iVann seemingly reverses the nature of war. With the little dark-skinned girl, his picture embodies the future of minorities. The soldiers, transformed into toys, stand for a possible peace in the world. For iVann, his Jewish great-grandfather, who fled from Berlin to Mexico as a Jew, exerted a strong influence . He knew little of his German family history. Only on his trip to Krefeld, during a street festival, did he find out that his family with the name 'Hirche' was wealthy and well-known in Berlin. What would have become of him if there had been no persecution of the Jews? Again, the nonsensical nature of violence and wars becomes clear, but also the inevitability. A steady cycle of power posturing, greed for profit, intolerance and arrogance. It repeats itself again and again, such as the relationship between the USA and Mexico. Floya Jam, Toulon, France - Le reve de Annabella Facebook Floya Jam posed for her niece in this beautiful color image. The little one plays peacefully and apparently completely relaxed in her own imaginative world. In her mind, butterflies fly freely around her. Floya Jam wants to express hope. Hope for a peaceful coexistence of all people. The sunflower in the background provides the vital light, symbolized by the little girl's peaceful face, which becomes the focal point of the magnificent blossom. The picture evokes calm in me as the viewer, lightness and peace. She describes this painting style, which is typical of Floya Jam, as improvisation in mediative painting flow. Danila Shmelev, Moscow, Russia, Fragility Facebook * Instagram Physical and psychological violence and aggression bother Danila (@SSHHOZZY). Hidden behind shredded paper, cardboard and plastic, an eye tries to find protection and security from just this. But paper offers no protection against these attacks. Danila himself was able to grow up without these bad influences, but he was not spared frightening examples. Achieving success through physical violence and aggression is possible, he says. But that can't be the right way, even though many people experience it every day. I am very touched by this delicately designed picture. It was only during editing that the individual inadequate protective devices became apparent to me layer by layer. Details that I didn't really notice when visiting the gallery. This picture speaks later... BeNer1, garbs, Germany - Bayeza abafana abancane Facebook * Instagram * Homepage Patrik Wolters aka BeNer1 looks back on more than 20 years of development in art and graffiti. For Krefeld, he has taken up the still current problem of political and social injustice in South Africa. Through his time in Johannesburg, where he and his girlfriend took photos in the township and offered a graphic workshop for children, he always stayed connected to the country and its problems. His picture shows there s South African township Gugulethu, which has suffered greatly from apartheid, from the point of view of the residents, not from that of the tourists. The mountains Table Mountain and can be seen in the background of the picture. The situation is framed by the national flower of South Africa, the protea. The main character is a boy with a red crown on his head, a stylistic device used in graffiti art to emphasize something special. This emphasis applies here in the very graphic depiction of a song text from 1989, the end of apartheid: "One man one vote" by Johnny Clepp & Savuka. Carlos Alberto, Guadaljara, Mexico - A future that breathes Facebook A young girl looks proudly and powerfully, still innocently, into a hopeful future. It is meant to symbolize a new generation, more confident than the previous one, in tune with the difficulties of the present and a realistic vision of the future. The beautifully colored birds, individually rather weak and fragile, symbolize the strength that can emanate from a group. Applied to humanity, the desire for togetherness becomes clear here, without differences of origin. Hope for a functioning shelter earth. Unfortunately some of the last pictures are missing. I wasn't able to look at them on the day of my visit. As a result, my report remains incomplete, the story does not find its end, at least not here. I hope to get another chance to look at the missing pictures. Add comment: (...) Did you like this report? Feel free to leave a comment :-). (... ) Note to the © (... ) Björn von Schulz Björn von Schulz/Germany - Urban Art Gallery Krefeld 2023 Weiter Nordstr. 118, 47798 Krefeld (06.-11.08.23) The young woman and the lamb ... that's what I call this beautiful picture painted at Nordstr. 118 in Krefeld by Björn von Schulz from Münster, where he was born in 1978. As a designer, illustrator and graffiti artist, Björn von Schulz quickly recognized his passion for figurative drawing and painting As he also had the talent for this style of painting, he quickly gained recognition in the scene. As a founding member of the artist collective and later creative agency "Studio Egotrips", Björn was able to prove his talent and intention. In 2015 he gave up the agency artist's life and embarked on new paths of his own. This allowed him to concentrate fully on his own art, his own "way of art". His art has been on display at home and abroad for over 20 years. Björn has also made a name for himself with various publications. He has only been painting murals and participating in various festivals since 2019. Even though photographing this picture was a bit special again, as I had to block the road from time to time, this picture radiates calm and thoughtfulness for me. The woman, who is no longer quite young, seems to be wearing a kind of "shepherdess" costume. Surrounded by green branches, I perceive a closeness to nature or a return to nature. In 2015, von Schulz left his familiar paths, the agency life, and concentrated fully on his art. He has been exhibiting his work in Germany and abroad for over 20 years now and regularly appears in various publications. Since 2019, there has been an increased focus on wall works and painting at festivals. Quellen: Artist Profile - Bjoern von Schulz - YoungArt, Björn von Schulz , Stadt Bibliothek Rheine 2022 Julia Bethke/Germany - Urban Art Gallery Krefeld 2023 Weiter Tannenstr. 42, 47798 Krefeld (06.-11.08.23) Julia Bethke discovered her creative interest and artistic talent in her youth. It quickly became clear that she would follow this career path. She then completed her training as a stage painter at the Theater & Philharmonie Essen as part of a 3-year apprenticeship, where she learned a wide variety of techniques. Essen is the third location in Germany for this training, alongside Berlin and Baden-Baden. (I love this theater and have seen many performances there over a long period of time and was always impressed by the unconventional, unusual stage and costume design). She completed her compulsory internship at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Duisburg. She was totally "flashed" at the interview when she realized that she would have to learn many new things and techniques in this job. Her enthusiasm and passion for "her art" enabled her to successfully complete this demanding, creative school. She soon realized that the profession of stage painter has long since been just about "swinging brushes", but that larger projects also require manual skills and dexterity and that you always have to get stuck in and lug things around. (...) Huge backdrops and floors often have dimensions that exceed a normal apartment size, which is obviously exactly Julia Bethke's thing, who always goes about her work with perfectionism. Like many creative people, the fact that you can see what you have created is an important factor in her professional fulfillment. The Rheinisches Landtheater Neuss, the Theater Dortmund and the Theater für Niedersachsen in Hildesheim have been further stations in her professional career. As an employee in these theaters, she not only designed stage sets as illusion and imitation paintings, but also gave furniture, floors and walls a new creative outfit. She has also embellished large backdrops with her special style of painting. You can find some impressive examples of her creativity on her homepage . In addition to theater projects, she also shows various interior embellishments with a detailed making off as well as some private paintings. She has been working freelance since summer 2021. In times of the corona epidemic, she took the plunge into the cold water of self-employment and began to develop her own brand. "JueLIEBE" became her creative trademark. She likes the name Juelie, she tells Esther Jansen in the Kredo interview, which her uncle had given her earlier. By adding the first two letters of her surname, she came up with her stage name "JuLIEBE". She loves to create illusions. She is able to recreate tiles, wood, asphalt, rust or marble in a lifelike way. In her opinion, anything you can imagine can be imitated. A very valuable skill in her creative work, in my opinion. Using spray cans, spatulas, rollers and lots of brushes, she now carries out a wide variety of commissioned works, e.g. in schools and restaurants, from the initial idea to the final execution. In this way, she transports the viewer into her own colorful world. In 2021, she left an impressive reminder for nature as part of the Silk City Gallery Krefeld with a contribution about bees. In an interview with Esther Jansen, published in Kredo on 02.09.22, it becomes clear, among other things, that colors and textures are not only her profession but also her vocation. After emigrating from Israel, she settled in the USA/Houston and found her true calling in painting. Over the years, she has created countless works of art in the USA and all over the world on various media, such as walls, floors, canvases, practically anything that can carry color. She has painted in Western Australia, China, India, Israel, the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain and, of course, Canada and the USA. She speaks fluent English, Hebrew and Spanish. In the course of her eventful career, she has also won many awards and prizes. As the multidisciplinary artist Anat considers herself to be, she is not only able to earn a living with her versatile art, she also participates in national and international street painting and street art festivals. After the Wood Art Gallery in 2015 and the Rhine Side Gallery in 2017, the exceptional artist Anat Ronen will be back at the anniversary Urban Art Gallery in 2023. (... ) Anat weite lesen She brought us a special piece of art. As she told me, she has been collecting orphaned family photos for a while now. Among other things, she buys old photos on eBay that no one is interested in or where there are simply no more descendants. At festivals where she doesn't have to deliver commissioned work, she breathes personality and life into these pictures for a while. By painting these pictures large on walls, they become visible to the viewer. Everyone knows the small moments in such pictures, has perhaps experienced similar ones or remembers their own, almost forgotten encounters and feelings. In this way, the orphaned pictures receive renewed attention and are not forgotten. When I took my photos of the Helios wall a few days ago, similar thoughts crossed my mind. I also have family memories of similar situations. "It's not how long you wait, but who you wait for." (Some like it hot, 1959)" However, I could only really grasp Anats Ronen's intentions after she kindly explained her motives for the Krefeld pictures to me. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Anat once again for her input, which makes her pictures even more vivid. Forgive me for the intense play of light and shadow, which made it impossible to achieve a uniform exposure of her pictures. I actually wanted to take new pictures with fewer shadows at another time, but then decided against it because it is precisely this play of light that gives the pictures a life of their own. My own representation of these pictures has emerged in the course of editing, has been approved by Anat Ronan and shows a little of my perception of her art. Fabio explains that it doesn't really matter to him whether he puts his art on the walls of his own front door, the neighbor around the corner or in a distant country. It is important to him what he paints and that this painting is in a good relationship with its surroundings. Corona has changed a lot. International projects mean an enormous amount of energy, work and costs for the artist. Financially, these projects offer no profit, rather the opposite. While he still took part in international festivals about every two years before Covid, he now sees much less incentive to travel to these events. Not least because street art projects are currently springing up like mushrooms. In order to "do his thing", to live his art, he no longer needs to travel internationally. (... ) Fortunately, he received an invitation he couldn't refuse and could be sure of the support of his better half. In Krefeld, the introverted loner was able to work on his art with old friends and make new ones, immortalizing the enchanting world of elves in their natural environment on the dreary wall of Helios Hospital. According to him, he was able to use his stay in the silk city of Krefeld to learn, observe and discover new perspectives. When you hear that the journey back to his Italian homeland took 18 hours, and when you consider the sometimes bad weather during the "painting days", you can empathize with the artist how happy and relieved he was to be back home with his better half and his small human and furry family. A big thank you to the conscious "better half", who was probably instrumental in the fact that we Krefeld residents can now call a whole cheerful elfin family our own. It took 4 pictures to capture all the magical, young, mostly female mythical creatures. They seem to feel very much at home among the magical, colorful flowers and all kinds of creepy-crawlies. Visitors and patients of the Helios Clinic, as well as people hurrying past in Krefeld, can enjoy the magic of the fairy world for a moment, if they can find the time to follow the art of the Italian free spirit. Vita: Fabio Maria Fedele comes from Rovigo, northern Italy, near Venice. There he graduated in "History and Conservation of Architectural and Environmental Heritage", followed by a degree in Architecture. Having discovered his passion for drawing as a child, he developed his skills in many different areas. He has been working as a street artist since 1993 and added the 3D field in 2006. He has achieved the highest artistic titles awarded in Italy. These include "Maestro Madonnaro" in Grazie di Curtatone and "Magister Madomnaris" in Nocera Superiore. Although he mainly works as a street artist in northern Italy, he has also painted in Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and the USA. He also works as an illustrator in archaeological museums. An extremely versatile artist. Source: Fabio Fedele personally Krefeld im Oktober 23 Cuboliquido/Italien - Urban Art Gallery Krefeld 2023 Weiter Seyffardtstraße - Wand Helios, 47805 Krefeld (06.-11.08.23) Cuboliquido tells us that from the 16th century onwards, Italian street painters roamed the country to capture people's attention with expressive, sacred images in front of churches. As the materials used, such as chalk and pastel, were very perishable due to the weather, it has only been possible to preserve these images for posterity since the invention of photography. The cheerful robot at the entrance to the Seidenweberhaus has an easier time of it. For the time being, its preservation is assured, even if it patiently bears the garbage of "forgetful" contemporaries (... ) For some 20 years now, anamorphic street painting has also been making inroads in Italy. This 3D chalk art, now also known as 3D street painting, enhances street painting enormously, as it produces extremely realistic moments. The viewer is automatically drawn into a lifelike scene, most impressively if he or she pays attention to the specific point from which the picture is to be viewed. Here, too, you have to walk back and forth along the wall of the Helios Clinic until you find the perfect spot, hoping that a parked car is not occupying it. Cuboliquido was born in Milan in 1974. He has been making a living from his art since 1992 and discovered his passion for street art in 1994. First as a graffiti artist and later as a traditional Madonnari artist (street painting of traditional Madonna images and religious motifs with pastels). Today, two of his Madonnari artworks are exhibited in a basilica in Bethlehem and in Mexico City. Since 2009, he has focused particularly on anamorphic 3D street painting and has participated in many international street art festivals, where he has won numerous prizes. He has presented his paintings across Europe, in Russia, the USA, Latin America, Thailand, China, the Middle East and South Africa. He has worked for many well-known companies such as Disney, Universal Cinema, Amazon, Coca Cola, Samsung, Unilever, Warner Bros and many more. To date, he has participated as a street painter in over 200 events of various kinds. He is the first artist to combine 3D street painting with animated videos (video mapping) and his work has been shown at three different art biennials and other contemporary art exhibitions. He was awarded the title of Maestro Madonnaro in Grazie die Curtatone and in March 2017 he won first prize in the world's most important competition for 3D street art in Dubai. For the Krefeld Urban Art Festival 2023, he has conjured up a powerful, jumping horse with an Amazon on the wall above the Krefeld restaurant "Schümli". After the first photos I took there and a very nice, if unfortunately not very informative conversation with the team and guests of the Schümli, I got some information about his art from Ruben himself. A big thank you to Ruben at this point. Ruben doesn't give an explanation of his painting as he doesn't want to make a specific statement for the viewer. Instead, he approaches a new work of art more intuitively by familiarizing himself with the ground that is to be painted, looking at the people, the neighbourhood and the city. He looks to see if there are any local stories, myths or similar that can give him a feeling for the wall. He himself calls his painting "Hope & Liberty". As he likes action very much, he has chosen a jumping horse here. A horse jumps in a fraction of a second. Ruben wanted to bring this effect of frozen time, the paused moment, closer to the viewer. The horse was quickly given a rider, in this case a female rider. It is possible that the Lorelei legend inspired him to create this lady, but it could also be a classic depiction of a female figure with a torch, which could stand for independence and freedom. But as Ruben says, the interpretation is up to the viewer. He is interested in the action and a source of light that gives the picture an "inner light" and a feeling outside of reality. (... ) Ruben Poncia paints graphically, not photorealistically. He paints with brushes and creates the shapes of his pictures through the direction of his brushstrokes. The physical nature of the wall and the surroundings are largely decisive for his works. He creates his sketches in black and white, the colors are then supposed to blend in with the surroundings. When I post-processed my photos, the colors seemed a little pale and dark. After reading about Ruben's working methods and looking at the wall again, I now perceive the colors as absolutely fitting into the surroundings. As the time that artists have for a painting is limited, a project like this quickly becomes a sport. The artist's ideas, his own physical condition and the changing weather make the whole thing a challenge. In addition, there is the operation of the lift, sufficient fuel and whatever else may be required. The artist gives his all every day to stay on schedule. In his email to me, Ruben thanks the Krefeld team once again, who, like all the other artists, gave him great support in all matters. He also had fond memories of the people in the neighborhood. He had to fetch a bucket of water from the "Schümli" a few times, was warmly welcomed there and was happy about any kind of communication with people passing by. Some complimented him, some probably expressed negative opinions. But for Ruben Poncia, all of this falls under satisfactory communication. And so, in my opinion, street art has done its job of creating art in public space for the public. While I was photographing, people kept coming to see what I was doing, only to see the picture they hadn't seen before. These brief moments of communication are also important to me, as they are always a contact with the outside world, however brief. He lived there in Huarte and Vitoria and in Germany in Göttingen, Bremen and Rheinberg. As soon as he grew up, he began to beautify the streets with his art not only in his home city of Pamplona, but also in numerous other cities, including Barcelona, Milan, Turin, Göttingen, Berlin and many more. With his special feeling for street art, he has won numerous prizes at Spanish and Basque graffiti and street art festivals. (... ) His art is characterized by the special combination of his urban roots, visible through tattoos and graphic design, and 3D art. The term "Corte", which translates as "cut" in German, can be found as part of his artist name. This is how his artistic activity developed from various art genres such as graphic design, classical art and graffiti. He works freelance in the fields of wall art, decoration, illustration, fine art and graphic design. This is Jabi's first time at a street art festival in Krefeld and he has chosen an extremely "hot" time for his painting. Even though you would expect a native Spaniard to be relatively tolerant of heat, I was able to see for myself how exhausting it was to work in these temperatures. His painting for Krefeld is entitled "Arantxa eta Agustín, beti gogoan". According to the artist, it is a tribute to his aunt Arantxa and his uncle Augustin, whose ashes the family laid to rest under a gingko tree planted especially for them. An unusual and yet loving presentation. The two, aunt and uncle, depicted as astronauts, floating, without recognizable faces, yet delicately glowing, can thus evoke the idea that they are always with their loved ones. He is one of the founding members of the Ma'Claim Crew. His works are photorealistic and depict the power of movement through the representation of hands. Hands in many variations and connections or touches. Having started painting in 1995, Chase Maclaim has exhibited his work in more than 20 countries. In these countries, he leaves behind his very personal, powerful handshake. His corresponding hands leave the impression that movement and at the same time unity are symbolized by these very hands. Chase wants this interference to be perceived not only on a physical level, but also in the social and political sphere. He uses these hand gestures, which are understood by everyone, to clarify his intentions. It is often the gesture that says more than 1000 words. His hands, or rather his hand gesture for Krefeld, are borrowed from sign language and, if you look at these hands from top to bottom, stand for the term "home". He sees the uniqueness of hands, hands that connect people. With this campaign, he wants to draw attention to the limitations of physically impaired citizens. He once painted a wheelchair user looking down at passers-by. After this gesture was positively received by the wheelchair user, he really became aware of the relevance of this topic. I perceive this description as a change of perspective, a change in the levels on which wheelchair users and people on foot move. While writing these lines, I had to think about it for a while, just leave this little report as it was and took another look at his Instagram account under this premise. It's worth it, take a look :-) (... ) Quellen: URBAN Nation , streetartcities.com Krefeld im Oktober 2023 Info Urban Art Gallery Krfeld 2023 Weiter Info weiter lesen Some of the artists are old acquaintances who have already taken part in previous projects. Others are newcomers who have come to beautify the former silk city of Krefeld. This year, the focus was on large areas that are suitable for providing residents and visitors to the city with new perspectives. To this end, citizens submitted proposals for areas to the collective betont.es in advance. The proposed areas were checked for their suitability and then the owners were approached. The owners, who in my opinion have experienced great added value for their properties as a result of this campaign. Despite the supposedly summery season, the artists and their teams had to contend with adverse, i.e. wet, conditions from time to time. However, during my photo tours in glorious weather after the end of the campaign, there was no sign of this. On the contrary, I sometimes had to contend with a little too much sun in front of the lens. Since 20 artists have created a lot of art and I want to treat each subject with a certain amount of care, I will upload the pictures here one by one, without taking into account the date of creation, with a little background information. Contrary to my original plan to upload all the pictures in one gallery, I have decided to create a separate section for each artist for a better overview, which can then be selected individually in the menu. As I sometimes find simply taking photographs too boring and many other photographers do the same, I sometimes allow myself to interpret the images myself. This is actually very much in the spirit of urban art, namely interpreting it according to your own ideas. Just let the pictures have an effect on you. I have linked the Instagram accounts under the artist's name. Finally, a note on copyright. I have carefully compiled the information on this topic and basically on all topics on this site and noted the respective sources.
